Heavy Duty Synthetic Ice
for Commercial or Home Use
Super-Glide® Heavy Duty synthetic ice is recommended for public skating, hockey training, figure skating, and any commercial use installation.
Heavy Duty synthetic ice was specifically designed for large outdoor facilities. This design enabled Global Synthetic Ice to achieve recognition by creating the first successful full-size outdoor synthetic ice rink. Heavy Duty is a solid core product using the Super-Glide® Ice Blue surface. The unique Ice Blue surface has a chemical composition designed to ensure lifetime lubrication, allowing thousands of hours of commercial use while still maintaining the highest skating quality.
The revolutionary Patent Pending Interlocking System, developed by Global Synthetic Ice in 2008 to control expansion and eliminates cracks during contraction, led to the most desirable synthetic ice skating surface ever created. This new method of joining panels is engineered to withstand forces over 200,000 pounds, allowing any size synthetic ice rink to be built inside or outside in extreme temperatures.
With this new technology, synthetic ice panels are locked together preventing movement in every direction. They are locked together vertically to prevent raised panels and horizontally to prevent panel gaps under all conditions.
Global Synthetic Ice has always been the leader in outdoor synthetic ice surfaces and with this new breakthrough, continues to provide the best surface technology has to offer.

Super-Glide® Underlying Membrane
An Underlying Membrane is needed for full size outdoor facilities. The Super-Glide® Underlying Membrane is designed to eliminate friction during expansion and contraction. The Membrane lays down first allowing the surface to move freely during changing temperatures so no binding occurs. Usage for other size outdoor facilities depends on size of the rink and the sub-floor surface condition.
